The ZTE Axon 31 Ultra 5G goes official, followed by the vanilla Axon 31 5G



It turns out, the ZTE Axon 31 Pro 5G is not alone. The new model is accompanied by two other siblings – the ZTE Axon 31 Ultra 5G and the ZTE Axon 31 5G. Let’s begin with the Ultra variant.

The ZTE Axon 31 Ultra 5G features a 3D curved display with a 70-degree curved edge, 6.67-inch diagonal size, 10-bit color bit depth, FHD+ resolution, DCI-P3 color space coverage, 144Hz refresh rate, DC Dimming, 300Hz touch sampling rate. The front camera uses a 16MP sensor but it is the rear camera department that is more interesting. There’s a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera with OIS, a 64MP portrait camera with a 35mm focal length equivalent, a 64MP ultra-wide unit with a 120-degree FoV. The fourth rear shooter is an 8MP telephoto unit with OIS. 60X digital zoom laser focus, PDAF are also supported. The model is also based on a Snapdragon 888 chipset with VC cooling, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of storage. Power is supplied by a 4600 mAh battery with 66W fast charging. The ZTE Axon 31 Ultra 5G is priced at CNY 7699 on ZTE Mall.

The vanilla ZTE Axon 31 5G has the same display as the Axon 31 Pro 5G – a 6.67-inch AMOLED unit with 10-bit color, FHD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 360Hz touch sampling rate. The chipset under the hood is the Snapdragon 768G. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. The battery is also the same with a 4200 mAh battery and 55W fast charging. The camera department comprises the same 44MP front camera, a 64MP main shooter on the back, a 8MP ultra-wide snapper, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth-sensing unit. The ZTE Axon 31 5G is priced at CNY 4899 on ZTE Mall.

The three devices from the Axon 31 series have under-display fingerprint sensors, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen ports, run on Android 11 with ZTE’s MyOS 11 on top.
