In addition to the Axon 30 Ultimate Edition, ZTE has also launched the Rocket A31 Pro 5G. In Chinese, the direct translation of the model name in English is ZTE Sky Machine A31 Pro 5G. The “Rocket” is our interpretation and this is most probably the heaviliy rumoured in Chinese press Axon 31 Pro 5G. So far, there’s no word on international availability.
The ZTE Axon 31 Pro 5G offers true flagship specs. For starters, it is based on a Snapdragon 888 chipset paired to 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Power is supplied by a 4200 mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. The model supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and runs on MyOS 11 based on Android 11. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 port. The audio department supports Hi-Fi Audio and DTS: X Ultra. There’s a mention of stereo effect but the data does not specify whether there are real dual speakers.
The ZTE Axon 31 Pro 5 is built around a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, 144Hz refresh, 10-bit color bit depth. The camera department features a 44MP selfie camera that resides in a punch hole in the center of the display’s top. On the back, there’s a 64MP Sony IMX682 main shooter, a 64MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree FoV, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth-sensing lens.
